Better is better

I’m using an iPhone 3G again after five months with the Nexus One. I’ve used Eclair, Froyo and diverse unofficial ROMs to no avail.

Android is deeply flawed. It lacks a coherent UI, usability, interaction with non-google platforms… And I don’t see it improving to iPhone levels any time soon only because I am following an absolute free grammar diet. If I wasn’t I would say that Google will never catch Apple.

People say that Windows is a great reminder that better isn’t always best. They forget that a big jump in Windows presence on the corporate desktop arrived because Windows NT provided real affordable multitasking on PCs. And Windows 9x was also much better than classic MacOS in that front. But I digress.

The thing is that Apple’s terminal from early 2008 performs far better than the best Android can offer on late 2010. It can also be upgraded to the last iOS version. Drop me a line when an Android Dev Phone 1 can run Gingerbread officially.
